Event History
Help A Diabetic Child Foundation was founded in Southwest Florida in 2013. Seeing the growing need to bring a division to Volusia County, the Foundation’s team believed it was vital to host a conference modeled on the annual one held, since 2015, in Naples, Florida. The event will be a combination of public and professional education and networking. Topics and speakers include experts on both T1 and T2 diabetes, as well as sessions for medical professionals seeking CME credits.
Several hundred attendees from both the public and the healthcare professional sector are expected. The conference, a unique mix of medical professionals and the general public gathered in one setting, acts as a catalyst for connecting and educating those treating diabetes and children and adults living with and affected by the disease. Proceeds stay in Volusia County to provide medical supplies, such as insulin, and services for children and young adults with diabetes through the Help a Diabetic Child Foundation. We are honored to be able to feature world-class presenters in the medical field, as well as Keynote Speaker and NASCAR driver Ryan Reed and Guest Speaker Lowell Lohman, both who live with Type 1 diabetes.
